 Women’s Empowerment

IAHV’s Women’s Empowerment programs promote women as key enablers of peace and stability through leadership, education, and community partnerships. Using a holistic approach to transforming lives, the program establishes clarity of mind, calm focus, and centeredness as the foundation of leadership. Women and men who have participated are committed to their personal and community responsibility to promote and protect women and enable them as catalysts for change addressing key issues such as education, health, employment, political representation, protection of human and legal rights and service delivery. The Women’s Empowerment program has innovative educational initiatives including:

TLEX Program

 

TLEX programs enhance the skills that truly advance people and organizations, resulting in employees with greater energy and clarity of mind, a sense of connectedness to each other and the organization’s mission, and a passionate commitment to personal excellence. What makes an effective organizational leader are soft skills: the ability to connect with and inspire co-workers and teams, to communicate with clarity and confidence, and to remain positive and transform challenges into opportunities. Yet most of our training focuses on technical skills. An organization’s success relies on leadership and employees who have the energy, clarity, and inspiration to work together to exceed expectations.

Inspired Leadership​

 

The capacity of a leader lies not in their technical skills, but in the power of their mind: their ability to read situations and people, make decisions, solve problems, and innovate in the context of dynamic and complex situations and relationships. When a leader can understand their own own beliefs and attitudes, concepts, and emotional states, they can step outside themselves to better understand their teams’ and clients’ perspectives. This flexibility of mind is the key for any leader to simultaneously focus on both the larger vision and the details, never losing sight of overarching goals while attending to the day to day activities and interactions that help achieve the goals.

 PRISON SMART

 

The Prison S.M.A.R.T. objective is to make a life-transforming difference in the lives of all people within the criminal justice system, by teaching skills for reducing stress, healing trauma, and providing practical knowledge of how to handle one’s emotions, live to one’s highest potential and contribute to society.

Prison S.M.A.R.T. aims to reduce offender recidivism and end the repeated cycle of violence and abuse. Without tools to process past trauma and present stresses, incarcerated individuals often cope with their negative emotions such as anger, guilt, mistrust, and frustration with unhealthy behaviors and attitudes- including violence, addiction, apathy or lethargy. The Prison S.M.A.R.T. program offers practical methods for participants to transform these negative emotions for true rehabilitation, and develop the core human values innate in all human beings, such as service to others and compassion.

Currently over 700,000 prisoners over 60 countries have been through this unique program.
